All art is powerfully defiant of reasonable explanations for its ability to inspire, or manipulate. But music can be especially potent because of the nature of its transmission. It is an auditory sensation that doesn't necessarily require focused attention and can be absorbed whether you are cognizant of the fact or not. Ostensibly, music synchronization to film is intended to reinforce an ideology presented on the screen, but perhaps it is really the other way around. We are a visually dependent culture and thus much of our cynical focus is directed at what we see. Music can take advantage of this by circumventing the conscious guard and luring the subconscious into accepting the designed perspective through the power of emotional persuasion. Once invested, the visual elements become the embodiment of this newfound conviction, and the viewer is inextricably committed to the action on the screen.

The work here always envisions potential synchronization to visuals, whether it is film, video, or video game. The music intends to illicit feelings of action, or storyline, as if to suggest a dramatic scene or provide theme music for a central character.
